Intentionally designing and implementing a learning culture
Being part of a club is like being part of a team or an organisation.
There are standards that are set and behaviours that are expected but it’s up to individuals to learn to work out how to grow and evolve within the culture, not in spite of the culture
I have the honour to work from a very special place when I’m not in ‘delivery’ mode.
The energy of this environment is welcoming, calming and inspiring. It’s a great place to think and create. There are also lots of events put on that we can engage in as members to continue to expand our horizons and grow.
It’s been intentionally curated to be this way. I would show you a picture of this incredible space but I’m not allowed to. It’s one of the rules.
No photography.
When we sign up as members of this club we all agree to respect and abide by the standards and guidelines of behaviour set out in the Members Agreement (MA).
Important as the MA is, it does not define the culture of the club, yet it does go some way to inform it.
It’s up to us as members to nurture the culture of the club. It’s not the sole responsibility of the leadership team or the staff that runs the club. It’s the role of the individual members as well.
Being part of a club is just like being part of a team or an organisation.
There are standards that are set and behaviours that are expected but it’s up to individuals to learn to work out how to grow and evolve with the culture, not in spite of the culture.
If a team or organisational culture is intentionally designed to evolve, develop and grow every individual will also feel encouraged and supported to develop and grow.
Culture is never static. Neither are people.
I believe that every person, in every team, at every level of every organisation has the ability to evolve, develop and grow.
The question is, as a leader, are you intentionally designing a culture that supports, enables and encourages learning as a means of both personal growth and organisational success?
Doing so will help you create a culture that is welcoming, calming and inspiring.
Sustainable high performance will no longer be something that individuals need to strive for it will JUST BE.
